HICKORY-Elizabeth "Libby" Chambers, 77 of Hickory passed away peacefully at Trinity Ridge on Friday, September 15, 2017. Born in Catawba County on December 22, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Sterling and Lillian Holland Ward. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Harvey Ward. She is survived by her sons Scott Crider and wife Ellen of Hickory and Tommy Hefner and wife Beverly of Sevierville, TN; a sister Jackie Ward Franks and a very special niece, Beth Heaton both of Hickory; a brother Rick Ward and wife...

HICKORY-Elizabeth "Libby" Chambers, 77 of Hickory passed away peacefully at Trinity Ridge on Friday, September 15, 2017. Born in Catawba County on December 22, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Sterling and Lillian Holland Ward. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Harvey Ward. She is survived by her sons Scott Crider and wife Ellen of Hickory and Tommy Hefner and wife Beverly of Sevierville, TN; a sister Jackie Ward Franks and a very special niece, Beth Heaton both of Hickory; a brother Rick Ward and wife Becky of Hickory; granddaughters Emma Marie Crider of Hickory, Michelle Hefner Day and great grandson Declyn Jaxon Day both of Newton; a sister-in-law Janie Ward of Hickory and numerous nieces and a nephew.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 6:45 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Schroeder officiating. Graveside service will be Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11:00 am at Catawba Memorial Park. Memorials gifts may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658 or Trinity Ridge Memory Unit, 2140 Medical Park Drive, Hickory, NC 28602. The family would like to give their sincere appreciation to Trinity Ridge for the exceptional care of Ms. Chambers.
