Lucille Gélinas Joubert, 96 passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Sherrills Ford Hospice House in Sherrills Ford. She was born on June 24, 1920 to the late Ferdinand Gélinas and Mary Poudrier Gélinas in St. Elie Quebec, Canada. Lucille was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hickory and retired as a clothing designer and sewing professional. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend with a contagious sense of humor, who will be truly missed by her loved ones, especially her furbaby, Missy. Lucille Gélinas Joubert, 96 passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Sherrills Ford Hospice House in Sherrills Ford. She was born on June 24, 1920 to the late Ferdinand Gélinas and Mary Poudrier Gélinas in St. Elie Quebec, Canada. Lucille was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hickory and retired as a clothing designer and sewing professional. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend with a contagious sense of humor, who will be truly missed by her loved ones, especially her furbaby, Missy. Along with her parents, Lucille is preceded in death by her brothers, Bernard Gélinas, Wilson Gélinas, Bernie Gélinas and wife Kathy, Roland Gélinas and wife Mary, Lucien Gélinas and wife Dorothy, brother-in-law, Gilford Thomas, son-in-law, Bruce Baker, and daughter-in-law, Nancy C. Misiazek. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband John "Jack" Joubert of the home, daughter Elaine Baker of Hickory, son, Rudolph "Beau" Misiazek of Hickory, grandchildren, Wayne Santos and wife Cil of York, ME, Renee Descoteaux of Ocala, FL, Cheryl Grant of Hilton Head, SC, Kenny Descoteaux of Auburn, NY, step-grandchild, Erin Cantwell of Ayre, MA, fifteen great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren, sisters, Rose Thomas of McKinney, TX, Marguerite Bearton and husband Walter of Winter Haven, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00-2:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Father Larry LoMonaco will be officiating the services. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
